Nuevo album de Isole

La banda sueca de Epic Doom Metal Isole tiene un nuevo trabajo, el quinto de su carrera y que se titula "Born From Shadows", el cual saldrá a la venta el 28 de octubre a través de Napalm Records. Serán 2 versiones, cd y versión vinilo, el que incluirá algunos bonus track.

The Lake es el tema elegido como adelanto de lo que se viene pronto con Isole.

My Dying Bride anuncia nuevo EP

Tal como lo leen, My Dying Bride regresa con nuevo trabajo luego del criticado "Evinta", la noticia fue anunciada a través de su página y se trata de un "EP titulado "The Barghest O’ Whitby", el cual consta de un tema de 25 minutos de duración, este nuevo trabajo será lanzado el 7 de noviembre por Peaceville Records en CD y vinilos LIMITADOS.

"The Barghest O’ Whitby" fue grabado en Futureworks Studio en Manchester, este lanzamiento es el primero con el violinista-tecladista Shaun Macgowan, y marca además el retorno de Shaun "Winter" Taylor Steels en la batería. La portada fue hecha por el vocalista Aaron Stainthorpe.

MY DYING BRIDE - ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ – New EP coming November 7th

Following the release of ‘Evinta’ earlier this year, in which the band marked 20 years of existence with a release of symphonic compositions re-imagining past MDB themes, the UK legends of doom now present their latest chapter in the form of new EP ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’, to be released 7th November on Peaceville Records on CD & limited vinyl.
This single track, 25 minute epic represents the epitome of poetic grace & funeral soundscapes from one of gothic doom’s most celebrated acts. With a masterful blend of pounding guitar riffs, & sombre atmospheric passages, My Dying Bride takes you on a chilling journey through superstition and folklore that will leave you simply spellbound.

As the band explains the origin of the idea:
“Carrying straight on from the success of ‘Evinta’ found us kind of out of breath for a second, we were already aware of a new-found love of all things bleak and grey and were eager to start writing in a more traditional My Dying Bride style. What did catch us off guard was the increased heaviness and the fresh approach to song writing. Moving away somewhat with the lyrical theme from our usual feeding ground, we found ourselves on the rainy moors of Yorkshire contemplating the story of the Barghest; a supernatural entity hell bent on revenge. The tale now to be told wove itself into a 25minute epic which initially we thought would be a 3 part EP, but it simply became one very long song full of everything My Dying Bride and more. The violins conjure lonely tears atop a chasm of epic British doom.

‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ was recorded at Futureworks Studios, Manchester with long-time production partner & engineer, Mags. The release is the first to feature violin/keyboardist Shaun Macgowan, & sees the return of Shaun “Winter“ Taylor Steels to the drum-stool for this recording. The cover artwork for ‘The Barghest O’ Whitby’ also appears courtesy of vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe.

Nuevos lanzamientos de Mournful Congregation

Ya hay fecha de salida para el nuevo trabajo de Mournful Congregation, los Funeral Doom australianos lanzarán su cuarto disco, que lleva por titulo "The Book Of Kings", este 1 de noviembre en Europa a través de Osmose Productions y el 8 del mismo mes en USA por 20 Buck Spin y en Asia por Weird Truth.
"The Book Of Kings" consta de 4 temas, casi 80 minutos de duración y en su página de Myspace se puede escuchar un avance de lo que se viene.

Ya hay fecha de salida para el tercer album de The Wounded Kings, el cual llevará por titulo "In The Chapel Of The Black Hand" y será lanzado a través de I HATE RECORDS el 1 de septiembre de este año, este nuevo trabajo será la presentación de la nueva formación y la nueva vocalista Sharie Neyland, que fue anunciada durante marzo.

Ayer como adelanto de lo que se viene fue el estreno de la canción Gates Of Oblivion y se puede escuchar en The Soggy Bog (es la última canción del programa, aprox. en 01:45) The Soggy Bog Of Doom Show

Como primera impresión la canción está bastante buena, en mi opinión sigue en la misma linea (aun falta escuchar el resto de los temas) está potente, buenos riffs y el organo, tiene esa vibra oculta de los trabajos anteriores, la vocalista genial, tiene una voz entre temblorosa y siniestra por decirlo de alguna manera, que encaja perfectamente con la música.
Se viene bueno!!!

Who Dies In Siberian Slush

Who Dies In Siberian Slush comenzó como un one-man project en el año 2003 en Rusia, grabando algunos demos y un par de singles descargables de internet, ya en el 2008 pasan a ser un quinteto y en su formación actual cuenta con algunos miembros de otras bandas, tales como Comatose Vigil y Saints Everlasting Rest, la banda hace un Funeral Doom Death con algunos toques de melodía en sus riffs, creando una atmósfera bastante triste y desoladora, que te envuelve en un ambiente de amargura y depresión. A fines del 2010 lanzaron su primer LP, Bitterness Of The Years That Are Lost, con invitados especiales en las voces (Amber Tears, Comatose Vigil, Elnordia)

The Wounded Kings con nueva formación

La banda Doom originaria del Reino Unido cuenta con nueva formación, la noticia fue anunciada hace algunos dias a través del Myspace de The Wounded Kings, a Steve Mills (guitarra y único integrante que queda de la formación original) se unieron Sharie Neyland en las voces, Alex Kearney en guitarra, Mike Heath en batería y Jim Willumsen en el bajo. Además se preparan para entrar a grabar su tercer album en Junio, el que tiene por nombre "In The Chapel Of The Black Hand" y que será lanzado por I Hate Records, al igual que el anterior "The Shadow Over Atlantis" del 2010.
Lo novedoso e interesante de esta nueva formación es que ahora es una mujer la que estará en las voces, lo que personalmente me hace tener muchas espectativas de lo que se vendrá a futuro.

Apostle Of Solitude - Splits nuevos lanzamientos

El próximo 13 de Mayo es la fecha de salida para el nuevo trabajo de la banda Doom de Indianapolis Apostle Of Solitude, se trata de un triple split junto a Rituals Of The Oak (Australia) y The Flight Of Sleipnir (USA), el disco contará con 2 canciones exclusivas de la banda y tendrá dos versiones, LP de 12 pulgadas (portada doble y poster) y CD digipack, saldrá a través de Eyes Like Snow Records, este split se suma al "picture disc" 12" realizado junto a los portugueses Dawnrider y que saldría a mediados de abril por Blood & Iron records/Raging Planet records, ambos trabajos fueron grabados por la antigua formación, que a principios de año anunciaron la partida en forma amistosa de 2 de sus integrantes, el guitarrista Justin Avery y el bajista Brent McClellan, quedando estos pendientes para ser lanzados.
A Chuck Brown (vocalista/guitarra) y Corey Webb (bateria) se unieron Bob Fouts (ex-The Gates Of Slumber) y Steve Janiak (Devil To Pay) en bajo y guitarra respectivamente, con esta nueva formación los estadounidenses comenzarían a componer el nuevo material para su tercer album, además de la presentación en vivo en el festival Day Of The Doomed, que se realizará en Junio en Wisconsin y en el que también participarán bandas como Pale Divine, Black Pyramid, The Gates Of Slumber, Revelation, Orodruin, Pallbearer, entre otras.

Dejo el compilado con bandas Doom Metal chilenas, realizado por el foro Doom, Death And Darkness durante el año 2009. Todos los temas fueron autorizados por cada una de las bandas.

"Muchas bandas han participado, otras no se quisieron unir a la causa, pero al fin podremos escuchar y deleitarnos de tantas bandas que tiene este estilo.
